This was my last wedding of 2011! I totally expected to be shooting this wedding in a blizzard, but it almost felt like spring! Such crazy weather this year.

Robert and Brandi were married in the LDS Salt Lake Temple and held their reception at the Mapleton City Center building. I’ve known Brandi’s family for a few years now, and it turns out that Jake and Robert grew up in the same neighborhood. Small world! Always fun to do weddings where we know so many.

Megan + Allah 12.16.11 | Utah Wedding Photographer

Loved this wedding! So many fun details and lovely colors, along with a fantastic couple. Megan and Allah were married in the LDS Salt Lake Temple, and held their reception at The Manor in the Riverwoods. Allah is from Ghana, and at the end of the night, a group of friends came and played their drums while everyone danced. I have to admit, it was hard not joining in with that beat going!

Check out these awesome cufflinks. They belonged to Megan’s grandfather. They are something borrowed AND something blue!

I loved that they placed their glass dessert dishes in old frames on the serving bar.

The guys playing these drums were awesome. You really couldn’t help but move to the beat

Leslie + Patrick 6.23.11 | Salt Lake Temple Wedding Photographer

I met up with Leslie and Patrick the day before their wedding to do their photos of them as a couple. Despite the heat, the grounds of the Salt Lake Temple were gorgeous, as were the couple. Leslie and Patrick were so great to work with. Easily posed, and definitely in love. Here are some of my favorite shots:

Leslie and Patrick are now headed off on their honeymoon to visit Patrick’s hometown in Germany. So jealous!!

Kaden + Sarah 4.21.11

The wedding season is in full swing! Sarah and Kaden were my first wedding of the season and I loved it. They chose to be married early in the morning in the Salt Lake Temple. I’m so glad they decided to be married early, as we had the grounds to ourselves. And what beautiful grounds they were! Spring was in full force and flowers were blooming everywhere. It made my job that much easier. They finished the day with a reception in the Rose Room at Thanksgiving Point. I was hoping to get some shots on the grounds there as well, but a big rain/wind storm hit so we were limited to shooting inside. It still turned out beautiful though, and I’m so happy that I got to be a part of Sarah and Kaden’s day. Many thanks to Joanna for second shooting with me!

Jared + Lauren 5.1.10 | Salt Lake Wedding Photographer

My cousin Jared recently tied the knot with Lauren and I was lucky enough to be their photographer! I love Lauren and think she an excellent match for Jared. The day turned out to be a rainy one, but we shot through it and ended up with some great images! Thank you to Jared and Lauren for asking me to document your wedding! I had a great time!

Don’t you love that bouquet? Well guess what? Lauren made it. She made the boutineres too, because she’s awesome and talented like that.

Jared and his friend Matt run Majestic Photobooths, so definitely had a photobooth at the reception! Check them out. They’re awesome.

I love that they had a photo of different ancestors on their wedding day on each table for the centerpiece. Such a nice personal touch.

Ashley + Brad 4.22.10 | Utah Wedding Photographer

You know what I love best about these two? It’s hard to be around them and not feel happy. They definitely love life, and between Ashley’s deep dimples and fabulous smile, and Brad’s ability to make her laugh, one can’t help but smile when they’re around.

The morning of their wedding I woke up to snow. Typical Utah, right? Luckily, (also in typical utah fashion), it had only rained in Salt Lake, and by the time the wedding began everything had dried up! The day ended up being beautiful.

Shout-out to Studio Stems for the FABULOUS flowers. They were lovely. They also made the bouquet featured in Ashley’s bridals.

I absolutely love this family! I photographed Brad’s sister Lindsey’s wedding a few years back, and had such a great time with them! Since then, I think Lindsey’s become one of my best referrers out there! Love you Lindsey! Thank you so much!

I love when Brides have an idea and ask me to help execute it. Ashley had seen an image in a magazine with the bride and groom in top hats, facing the Eiffel Tower. So why not do the same thing with the Salt Lake Temple? I loved it!

The hats added a touch of class and glamour…

But also managed to bring out a lot of silliness too.

Ashley and Brad held their reception at the Salt Lake Hardware Building. I’d never shot there before, and I have to say, this place is pretty awesome!

A huge shout-out goes to Jacque with Riehl Events. She coordinated this wedding flawlessly and was so great to work with! I really think she did such an excellent job executing Ashley’s vision for this wedding! Aren’t these details lovely?
