This was my last wedding of 2011! I totally expected to be shooting this wedding in a blizzard, but it almost felt like spring! Such crazy weather this year.

Robert and Brandi were married in the LDS Salt Lake Temple and held their reception at the Mapleton City Center building. I’ve known Brandi’s family for a few years now, and it turns out that Jake and Robert grew up in the same neighborhood. Small world! Always fun to do weddings where we know so many.

Loved this wedding! So many fun details and lovely colors, along with a fantastic couple. Megan and Allah were married in the LDS Salt Lake Temple, and held their reception at The Manor in the Riverwoods. Allah is from Ghana, and at the end of the night, a group of friends came and played their drums while everyone danced. I have to admit, it was hard not joining in with that beat going!

Check out these awesome cufflinks. They belonged to Megan’s grandfather. They are something borrowed AND something blue!

I loved that they placed their glass dessert dishes in old frames on the serving bar.

The guys playing these drums were awesome. You really couldn’t help but move to the beat

Love this family! This is the third daughter’s wedding I’ve photographed for the Ashby family, and I’ve loved them all. I think that’s what I love most about photographing weddings: getting to know so many amazing people and being with them to help celebrate and remember such an amazing occasion. Laurel and DJ were awesome (as all my clients are–seriously folks, I’m lucky), and despite some wind and COLD, it was a great day!

Grandma made all the bouquets and flower arrangements. Aren’t they pretty?

Following the sealing, they had a lovely dinner with their family and friends.

Bryce + Lara 10.14.11 | Utah Wedding Photographer

Lara’s sister and I decided this is one lucky couple. The weather for their engagements: perfect. The fall color for their bridals/groomals: amazing. The weather for this October wedding: sublime. It’s like mother nature was not only on their side, but their closest and dearest friend. I absolutely loved this wedding! So many beautiful details, and such a great couple with amazing families. During this month of November, when “thankfulness” is on the brain more than usual, I’m so GRATEFUL for such amazing clients.

This reception was right up my alley. As a former English major, I was in love with the idea that they used a literary theme throughout the wedding. Classic books were used as the base for the table centerpieces…

…and my absolute favorite detail were the number signs leading to the reception area. Each sign had a quote from Pride and Prejudice (one of my all-time FAVS), and below the quote, a bit about Lara, Bryce, how they met, how Bryce proposed, etc. Such a unique idea!

Their reception was held at The Bungalow. It’s such a quaint and gorgeous reception site!

Josh + Amber 10.11.11 | Springville Wedding Photographer

Amber and Josh were married in the LDS Salt Lake Temple and held their dinner/reception at MillCreek Inn. The day was beautiful! Thanks to Joanna Oldham for second shooting at the temple, and for Jake second shooting at the reception! Couldn’t do this without my awesome assistants.

How fabulous are these bridesmaids dresses? Loved that they had pockets! Anytime a dress has pockets I instantly love it 30% more.

Instead of a traditional cake, Amber and Josh had donuts! How awesome is that?

They also had a photobooth set up where guests could get their photos taken, then paste them into their guestbook

Millcreek Inn has a fun tradition where the couple can carve their names on a “love lock” and lock it to their arbor where it will hang forever!

Brittani + Tyson 10.07.11 | Utah Wedding Photographer

Brittani and Tyson win the prize for most traveled during their wedding. They were married on Friday in the LDS Manti Temple, and held their reception the following night in at the Rosewood Reception Center in Pocatello, ID. It was fun to spend time with the Murray family again (Tyson’s sister is my good friend, and I photographed her’s as well as their brother Ben’s weddings), as well as get to know Brittani’s sweet family. Here are some of my favorite shots! (P.S. Special shout-out to my husband extraordinaire for not only being an amazing second shooter as always–he killed it this wedding with the candids–but also driving me to Manti and Pocatello with a smile on his face. Love you babe!!)

I think more reception centers should have a balcony that overlooks the main floor. Loved being able to get a birds-eye view!

Cory + Liz 9.3.11 | Utah Wedding Photographer

Cory and Liz met on a snowshoeing trip, and their love for eachother (and enjoying the outdoors together) grew from there. They were married in the LDS Logan Temple and held their reception at the Old Rock Church. This was the first wedding I’ve ever shot in Logan, and I have to say, it was nice to shoot in a new location! Logan is gorgeous, as are Liz and Cory, so that made my job that much easier. To top it off, I had the fabulous Kristin Brown second shooting with me. Be sure to check out her work! She’s awesome. Here’s a few of my favorite images from Liz & Cory’s day!

I loved that their thank-you gift to their guests was a carabiner. It’s such a great representation of them as a couple!

They served Aggie ice cream at their reception. The lemon custard flavor was AMAZING.

Their friends and family gave their car the WORKS. I’ve never seen a car so “decorated”. They were great sports about it!

David and Stephanie were married in the LDS Provo Temple. I don’t get to shoot there often, but love when I do. I think it’s one of the most beautifully-situated temple anywhere. David and Stephanie are awesome and braved the heat well! Congrats to the happy couple!

Joe and Aubrey are fabulous. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, and had a backyard reception at a home in Pleasant Grove. I had the pleasure of photographing Aubrey’s brother’s wedding a few years back, so it was fun to work with their family again. I love all the red hair! Aubrey’s hair is absolutely gorgeous, and exactly what I hope my little Audrey’s turns out to be. Love that deep auburn color!

Joe’s last name is Apple. I love how they used apple green as one of their colors.

Love this little cherub! She’s the daughter of Erin and Nate (whose wedding I shot two years ago. Nate is Aubrey’s brother).
