Garrett + Anna 7.5.10 | Outerbanks Wedding Photographer

Garrett and I (and our families) have been close friends for years. I pretty much consider them family. I’m so glad Garrett found Anna! Love that girl. They decided to marry during Garrett’s annual family vacation to the Outerbanks, North Carolina. We’ve been hearing about this place for years, so Jake and I were so excited when they asked us to come and photograph the event. Not only would we get to photograph their fabulous beach wedding, but we would also be able to hang out with all of them for a few days, enjoy the beach, and have ourselves a little mini vacation sans Audrey. (We love her and all, but everyone needs a little time away now and then–if only to be reminded why you love your little tyke so much!). We loved this trip (despite some travel woes which included me accidentally leaving my phone at the airport baggage claim, and our flight home being canceled due to mechanical errors), love the Quinns (and the Nettles!), and loved photographing this wedding.

The boys wanted their brother-in-law Abram to join the group shot and offered to hold him in front. I think Abram liked the idea, no?

Oh how I love these two people. Don’t they look fabulous?

I have serious photo envy for this shot that Jake captured. Isn’t is awesome?

Handsome little ring bearer

Someone nearby was setting off fireworks during their dinner (it was 4th of July weekend, afterall). How awesome is that?

Garrett’s sister-in-law Jessica made all these yummy cupcakes. Aren’t they pretty?

Looking at these photos makes me want to go back and do it all over again! Congrats Garrett and Anna. Love you guys.

Mike + Liz 05.29.10 | Salt Lake Wedding Photographer

As stated in Liz’s bridal post, Mike and Liz are just fabulous and Kayti and I loved working with them! We had the honor of doing some pre-reception coverage for them at the Tuscany Restaurant. Their families and bridal party were so kind and welcoming! We had some fabulous light and the Tuscany grounds were lovely.

Remember how Liz’s brother made her dress? Well he also made these awesome houndstooth skirts. Can I have one please?

Loved the bouquet and boutineers! Hydrangeas are my favorite.

Their friend made their cake, and I daresay did a fabulous job!

Jared + Lauren 5.1.10 | Salt Lake Wedding Photographer

My cousin Jared recently tied the knot with Lauren and I was lucky enough to be their photographer! I love Lauren and think she an excellent match for Jared. The day turned out to be a rainy one, but we shot through it and ended up with some great images! Thank you to Jared and Lauren for asking me to document your wedding! I had a great time!

Don’t you love that bouquet? Well guess what? Lauren made it. She made the boutineres too, because she’s awesome and talented like that.

The flowers and blossoms were seriously amazing.

My mom made the wreath for the door. Isn’t it lovely? She’s got skillzzz

Jared and his friend Matt run Majestic Photobooths, so definitely had a photobooth at the reception! Check them out. They’re awesome.

I love that they had a photo of different ancestors on their wedding day on each table for the centerpiece. Such a nice personal touch.

Liz | Memory Grove Bridals

Kayti and I fell in love with Liz and her now-husband Mike (photos of their reception coming soon!) as soon as we met them. They are both so genuine and kind. When Liz described her dress to us during our initial meeting, I knew it would be so fun to photograph! Her brother designed and made her dress (how awesome is that?), and I fell in love with its vintage charm. Liz was absolutely lovely, and despite the freezing cold weather (don’t let the sunshine and blossoms fool you! It was COLD), I really loved how these images turned out.

Don’t you love this parasol? I love it when my clients bring their own props. The books you saw earlier were also brought by Liz. Fabulous!

Ashley + Brad 4.22.10 | Utah Wedding Photographer

You know what I love best about these two? It’s hard to be around them and not feel happy. They definitely love life, and between Ashley’s deep dimples and fabulous smile, and Brad’s ability to make her laugh, one can’t help but smile when they’re around.

The morning of their wedding I woke up to snow. Typical Utah, right? Luckily, (also in typical utah fashion), it had only rained in Salt Lake, and by the time the wedding began everything had dried up! The day ended up being beautiful.

Shout-out to Studio Stems for the FABULOUS flowers. They were lovely. They also made the bouquet featured in Ashley’s bridals.

I absolutely love this family! I photographed Brad’s sister Lindsey’s wedding a few years back, and had such a great time with them! Since then, I think Lindsey’s become one of my best referrers out there! Love you Lindsey! Thank you so much!

I love when Brides have an idea and ask me to help execute it. Ashley had seen an image in a magazine with the bride and groom in top hats, facing the Eiffel Tower. So why not do the same thing with the Salt Lake Temple? I loved it!

The hats added a touch of class and glamour…

But also managed to bring out a lot of silliness too.

Ashley and Brad held their reception at the Salt Lake Hardware Building. I’d never shot there before, and I have to say, this place is pretty awesome!

A huge shout-out goes to Jacque with Riehl Events. She coordinated this wedding flawlessly and was so great to work with! I really think she did such an excellent job executing Ashley’s vision for this wedding! Aren’t these details lovely?

Love these two. They’re the type of people you want to be around. Fun, kind, welcoming. And the more you get to know them, the more you like them. They were married at the Provo temple, followed by a ring ceremony and reception at Sleepy Ridge. During their ring ceremony I was so touched by the sweet words that were spoken by their parents about the type of people Mary and Brent were. Or I guess I should say, “are”. Love my job!

During the coverage at the temple I had the lovely Jill Jackson assisting me. Thanks so much Jill!

Lavell Edwards Stadium is in the background. You’ll understand in a moment why I am pointing this out…

One of the perks of this job is meeting so many amazing people, and getting to be a part of people’s major moments in life. The thing that I love most about weddings, is getting to be around so much love. That may sound strange, but it’s true. This world needs all the love in it that it can get. For Mary and Nate, the love seemed to radiate around them. You could just feel it. And remember what I said about Mary’s sweetness? Well, sweet people must attract other sweet people because this wedding was full of some of the kindest folks, from the wedding party to the guests. Jake and I left feeling glad we’d been a part of this day.

Mary doesn’t really like cake, so she requested to have a chocolate chip cookie tower (you can see it in the background). They also gave cookies as their favors for guests.

They had their luncheon at the Lion House (see the slideshow for pics of that), and their reception at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. I absolutely love this room. It’s so ornate!

Mary’s brothers are fabulous musicians and took some time during the evening to play. They were sooo good.

Okay, brace yourselves for one big post! This has been a long time coming, I know. Thank you for being patient. My poor family always gets pushed to the bottom of list when it comes to getting their pictures done! But here they are. Finally. I have to say, I loved editing these photos. It brought a smile to my face to see my brother so very, very happy. And isn’t Jo gorgeous? We’re so happy to have her in our family!

I loved how all the kids immediately went and grabbed Jo’s train. So cute!

They held their reception at Sleepy Ridge Golf Course. It’s a lovely venue! We did a few shots out on the course.

It was such a great day!!! Despite some mishaps (my lens got dropped at the temple and my light fell over at the reception–it’s a long story! haha), I was so happy to be able to witness and photograph this special day for these two!! So happy.
