Some photos of Audrey…finally

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any photos of Audrey. I’ve got loads of photos of her, but no time to edit or post them. Since it’s now snowed, and the leaves are all falling, I thought I’d at least get these posted before fall is completely over! This shoot was pretty last minute, but I’m glad we did it, crazy hair and all.

This face cracks me up. I think I told her there was a bug on my head so she’d look up at me…

Studio

We’ve finally started putting the floor down in the studio! I can’t wait until it’s finished. I took these shots when we were first starting, but we now have about half the wood down (and when I say wood, I mean laminate. We aren’t as cool and rich as we wish we were).

Audrey has had a lot of fun “helping” us.

And although these next photos have nothing to do with the studio, I’m on an Audrey kick this morning, and thought I’d post these for myself. She loves the new princess dress-ups we got her for her birthday. When I showed her these first shots she said, “ooooh, two pretty Audreys!”

5 Awesome Years

Five years ago today Jake and I were married. It’s gone by so fast, but really has been such an awesome 5 years. I feel so blessed to have found Jake, and so lucky to have someone who is so supportive and loving. Since having Audrey, I’ve also felt so lucky to have found someone who is such a great father. I’m really looking forward to what the rest of our years will bring!

Where does the time go?

I’ve been going through photos of Audrey today and realizing how fast she’s growing up. Just this week Jake and I were talking about how we can’t believe how fast this past year went. Our baby is almost 2! Even in a matter of months she’s changed. She’s thinned out (miss that baby chub!), runs everywhere, talks, sings, counts to 10, answers every question with “no” even when she means yes, and loves to mimic everything Jake and I say and do. We really need to watch out.

These first few were taken back in August.

Is it summer yet?

My sisters and I had Dolly Dingle paperdolls when were we young. Sometimes Audrey reminds me of Dolly Dingle.

I love her curls SO much!! I think it’s because I never had any.

Nana and Papa Carlson surprised Audrey with her very own Jesse doll. She adores it!

Doritos Crash the Superbowl

Guess what everyone? My little brother’s friends made a commercial (which he stars in) for the Doritos Crash the Superbowl contest, and they are one of the top 5 finalists (out of thousands)!!!! I’m SO excited and proud of him.

Let it snow!

I was so happy to wake up to snow this morning! It’s the week of Christmas, but has been feeling more like October. Minus the pretty leaves. When Jake went out to shovel the driveway this morning, I decided to bundle Audrey up and join him. Jake pointed out the snow was really sticky–perfect for a snowman–so we went to work. (Okay, Jake worked while Audrey and I watched).

Look at Jake’s poor red ears! We need to find his hat. Too bad it’s buried somewhere in the basement. Guess I have a job to do…

My friend Matt Butler made this awesome video of our little family, and I LOVE it! Isn’t he amazing? It’s rare that I’m in any photos with Audrey since I’m usually taking them, and even more rare for me to appear in video with her. Audrey absolutely loves watching herself and has already requested to watch this video about 50 times.

Wouldn’t you love this for your family? Why not have Matt come along on your next family, engagement, child, newborn, or high school senior portrait session and have him get all the behind the scene moments. Some Favorites

I’m heading out to D.C. for the weekend tomorrow to photograph a wedding. Today as I’ve been packing and getting ready, I’m feeling sad to be leaving Audrey. Lately she’s just been such a good little buddy. I think she’s in my favorite age/stage so far. She does the funniest things and has developed such a little personality that is so unique and so HER. I had my camera out doing some test shots the other day, and got a few new favorite shots of her.

She’s really into her baby lately. It’s the first thing she wants when she wakes up. “beebee, beebee” as she calls it. She hugs, snuggles, and kisses it over and over. I’m not really sure what this expression is, but I love it.

Love this shot so much. Love those eyes. Yep, she’s a thumb sucker.

Everyday she finds some random item, and carries it around the rest of the day. It’s a toothbrush a lot of the times. Random cups, shoes, or tubes of toothpaste other times.

I’m not kidding when I say that this expression was the direct result of Jake walking out the door behind me. She LOVES her daddy…

…and I don’t blame her.
