I’m back from Lake Powell and it’s back to work! Before I left I had the opportunity to photograph Lance and Karen’s engagements. These two are fabulous! So cute together and so great all-around. I’m really looking forward to their upcoming wedding!

We started out in an urban setting:

Okay, so I’m a month late in blogging these, but better late than never, right? My bro Aaron surprised his wife Kayti with a photoshoot for Valentine’s Day since she’d been wanting one for a while–isn’t that sweet? Who knew he was such a romantic. I love photographing these two; they are always up for anything (so I get to be as creative as I want). I love how these turned out.

Also, for those of you who don’t know, Kayti is now my fabulous assistant! She’ll be taking care of all the back-end details (office stuff, ordering/proofing sessions, keeping me in line, etc.) so I can get some more organization in my life! Woot!

I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s day weekend! My brother got married, so our weekend was definitely filled with love!

Speaking of love, what happens when a skier and a snowboarder fall in love? They get engaged at Wedding Ring Run at the Sundance Ski Resort, of course!

I photographed Brad’s sister’s wedding (hey Lindsey!) a few years back, so it’s fun to be now photographing Brad’s engagements and upcoming wedding. We decided to do the shoot at Sundance since that’s where they spent much of their dating time and eventually their engagement!

So without further ado, meet the happy couple!

Mary was a bridesmaid for a wedding I shot about 2 years ago. Now it’s her turn to be the bride. Hooray! Mary and Brent will be tying the knot this spring. So, of course, an engagement session was in order. We headed up Hobble Creek Canyon for this shoot. Little did they know I would be making them hike through the snow! Poor Mary’s feet were just about frozen solid by the time we were done. I’m excited about the shots we got though. I’d say it was worth it, wouldn’t you?

My brother is getting married! Woot woot! We are super excited for him and to have Jo in the family! She’s fantastic. Stupendous. Lovely. Well, you get the idea. I had a tough time choosing my favorites to post! There were just so many.

Love these two. I shot their engagements/bridals/wedding last year and have been friends ever since. I was so excited when Jen said they wanted to do photos again. They are naturals in front of the camera and good-looking to boot! And despite being teased by Jen that I like to say, “Perfect! Love it!” a lot while shooting (what can I say? I did love it and it was perfect), I had a blast catching up with these two.

We laughed about the fact that it felt like they were doing engagements again. But I loved that. Because when people do engagements they are so in love and just giddy about eachother. And you know what? A year later and Jen and James still haven’t lost it.

First, let me apologize for not posting sooner. The fall is here and with it the busy family portrait season! I’ll try my best to keep up and post as often as I can! Okay, enough with apologies.

My cousin Ashli is getting married and I’m so happy for her! Nate is such a great guy and I loved the time I was able to spend with them shooting their engagements. I’m really looking forward to their wedding next month!

Ashli’s son Alex joined in for some shots here and there (and did a great job picking out spots for photos!)

Hailey + Kraig | Engagements

There’s something you should know about Hailey and Kraig: they are awesome. I had a great time with them for this enagement shoot! It was my first photosession post-baby, and even though it had only been about 4 weeks since I’d worked, they made me realize how much I had missed it! When I get to meet/photograph/hang out with such great people I am reminded that my job rocks. Now get ready for picture overload, because I seriously had a hard time narrowing down my favorites.

Cheryl + Rob | Engagements

I’ve known Cheryl for years now, and just so you know, she’s super fantastic. I’m so happy that she’s found Rob! He also seems quite fantastic (I knew I really liked him the minute he rattled off a quote from one of my favorite movies “While You Were Sleeping” during the session).
