I laughed when I took this picture. I laughed when I downloaded this picture. I’m laughing as I post this picture. Something about that crazy hair, goof-troop teeth, and spunky little personality makes me smile every single day. I guess her shirt ain’t lyin’.

I’d like to introduce my newest nephew! Isn’t he a dream? So darling and sweet. He was born almost exactly one year after Audrey. It’s amazing to look at him and think that Audrey was that small and tiny just one year ago! Just look at this little guy. SO handsome!

He has a tight little grip. After this shot his mom has to pry his little fingers off. He didn’t want to let go!

Just look at those lips!

I love baby’s yawns! They are so sweet.

Big brother Daxton isn’t so sure about Bridger yet…I think he’ll come around though

Ode to Audrey (Part III)

I’m sure you have all been on the edge of your seats with anticipation for part III of this series (haha), so here it is! Audrey’s first (ahem, second) cake eating! Thanks again to my cousin Mindy for the darling cake! And to my fabulous sis Alyson for the darling hat and bloomers.

Audrey wasn’t particularly thrilled with the whole hat idea…

She managed to give me (okay Jake–she’ll ALWAYS smile for Jake) a smile

Off with the hat!

She kept looking at us like, “Is this really for me? Can I touch it?”

She was nervous at first…

But then she tasted it.

And she liked it…A LOT! (name that movie)

But this cake is SOOO yummy!

Did I drop any?

I’m going to miss these legs. They are already slimming out, and it makes me sad.

Ode to Audrey (Parts I & II)

Audrey turned 1 on May 1st! I can’t believe she’s already a year old. It’s gone by so fast. She now how four teeth, loves to stand and hold on to things (I think walking isn’t far off), her favorite word is “dada”, and her favorite thing to do these days is ride around in her green car (featured at the end of this post). Jake and I feel so lucky to have such a happy, easy-going little girl (she gets that from her dad). For her birthday I went a little over the top, but since she’s my first, and since I happen to love birthdays (how great that you get to spend a day celebrating a person?), I thought, why not?

Part I.

My sister Alyson is a crafty genius/seamstress. Check out her blog: polkanuts.blogspot.com. I had been telling Aly that I was looking for a cute dress to take Audrey’s 1 year photos in. So what does she do? She MAKES Audrey an adorable one-of-a-kind dress. With a matching hairpiece. Isn’t she fabulous? Just look how cute it is! I think these are some of my most favorite photos I’ve taken of Audrey to date. They are just SO her.

Oh this face! I want to eat it.

Part II.

Now for the party photos! A big shout-out to my fabulous sister-in-law/assistant extraordinaire Kayti for all her help with this party!

We made this little banner. I love how it turned out!

My cousin Mindy makes the most adorable little cakes! She made this one for the party, and another for a cake smash session coming up in Part III (yes, there’ll be a third part to this post…) Let me know if you want her info!

Some yummy homemade cupcakes. I should have made the frosting a little thicker, but they still turned out!

Always smiling! She loved everyone singing to her.

This photo makes me laugh. She wasn’t actually blowing. I think she was trying to mimic Jake blowing, but couldn’t actually do it. It looks like it though, doesn’t it?

Audrey was pretty dainty about the cake eating. Just sticking a finger in here and there, and they trying to give pieces to her daddy. Maybe it was the fondant? She’s not so dainty in Part III when the cake has buttercream frosting

Once again, check out my sister’s craftiness. She whipped up this adorable “1″ hat and cupcake bloomers for the birthday girl! These will also debut in Part III.

My favorite part was watching Audrey open gifts. She absolutely loved every one! Her reactions of excitement and joy when she opened every gift was so cute! (And I think it made all the gift-givers feel good too–THANK YOU EVERYONE!!)

Her present from Jake and I was this green car. And let me tell you, it’s the best thing I ever bought. She is SO in love with this car. Every morning she crawls to it and tries to climb in. Once we put her in, she puts one hand on the wheel and the other on the arm rest and just leans back like she’s cruising down the boulevard. Every now and then she’ll honk the horn. She loves having her bottle or sippy in the cupholder, and LOVES taking her doll on rides with her. She could ride in this for hours.

I can’t believe how fast kids grow up! You may remember Preslee’s newborn pics on the blog not too long ago (okay, so maybe is was a while back, but it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long!). Now look at her. Isn’t she so darling? Love this little gal. Her big blue eyes just make me melt.

So many cute babies in this world! This little guy is no exception. He belongs to my cousin Ben and his wife Angie. Since I don’t get to see them much these days, I was happy to be able to photograph their newest addition and get to spend some time together! I can’t believe how much their older two have grown! I’m sure next time I see Liam, I won’t even recognize him.

How sweet is this little peanut? I had the honor of photographing the wedding of this little guy’s parents, and was so excited to hear that they were adding a new addition to their family! Meet baby Corbin. We’re so happy you’re here!

As you may know, I’m not a morning person. But it has become nearly impossible to hate mornings when you have a little cherub smiling in your face. Here’s a typical morning at our house.

1. Wake up ready for the day!

2. Drink bottle while snuggling and reading with daddy (this really does happen every morning. Jake is an avid reader and Audrey just snuggles up while he reads)

3. Seek for high adventure off the side of the bed (or sometimes under the covers)

4. Make dad explain for the 100th time why he has to go to work, rather than stay home and play
