I laughed when I took this picture. I laughed when I downloaded this picture. I’m laughing as I post this picture. Something about that crazy hair, goof-troop teeth, and spunky little personality makes me smile every single day. I guess her shirt ain’t lyin’.

Garrett and I (and our families) have been close friends for years. I pretty much consider them family. I’m so glad Garrett found Anna! Love that girl. They decided to marry during Garrett’s annual family vacation to the Outerbanks, North Carolina. We’ve been hearing about this place for years, so Jake and I were so excited when they asked us to come and photograph the event. Not only would we get to photograph their fabulous beach wedding, but we would also be able to hang out with all of them for a few days, enjoy the beach, and have ourselves a little mini vacation sans Audrey. (We love her and all, but everyone needs a little time away now and then–if only to be reminded why you love your little tyke so much!). We loved this trip (despite some travel woes which included me accidentally leaving my phone at the airport baggage claim, and our flight home being canceled due to mechanical errors), love the Quinns (and the Nettles!), and loved photographing this wedding.

The boys wanted their brother-in-law Abram to join the group shot and offered to hold him in front. I think Abram liked the idea, no?

Oh how I love these two people. Don’t they look fabulous?

I have serious photo envy for this shot that Jake captured. Isn’t is awesome?

Handsome little ring bearer

Someone nearby was setting off fireworks during their dinner (it was 4th of July weekend, afterall). How awesome is that?

Garrett’s sister-in-law Jessica made all these yummy cupcakes. Aren’t they pretty?

Looking at these photos makes me want to go back and do it all over again! Congrats Garrett and Anna. Love you guys.

Here are just a few, yes a few, of the zillions of photos I took during my family’s Powell vacation. Since becoming a parent I’ve realized that these family vacations are not really for me anymore. Once you have a kid, it really becomes all about them (whether you like it or not–hehe). Last year was kind of lame since Audrey was a brand new baby and just wanted to sleep and eat the whole time. Now that she’s older, it was actually fun to see her experience this place that has been so much a part of my life. She was pretty good about just going with the flow (except when it came to naptime) and really seemed to enjoy everything (including the sand–yes, she ate a handful. gross).

Audrey LOVES buckles. Buckles on her carseat, her push-car, her stroller, and these lifejackets. Don’t know what it is, but she can entertain herself for hours trying to put them together.

We didn’t bother to brush her hair while there, and by the end of the week her curls had turned to mini dreds.

Sure wish that it was cute for my legs to look like this in a swimsuit…

Okay, okay, there WERE other people there besides Audrey. Here’s Easton channeling his “blue steel”

Oh those teeth!! Love them!

Have I mentioned before that Audrey LOVES her dad?

Thanks to Kayti, we got a shot of all of us together.

Check out this gorgeous family. You may recognize Jen and James since they are some of my favorite repeat clients. Now I had the chance to photograph all of James’ family, and they were great! It’s always fun to see families with one grandchild, because they are so doted on! Brooklyn is definitely a lucky little girl with all the love surrounding her, and it was so much fun to see how much she’s grown since I photographed her as a newborn!

My nephew Easton recently turned two, so obviously photos were in order to celebrate. Now, I know I’m a little biased here, but I seriously think I have the most adorable nephews and nieces. Seriously. Easton is such a handsome and cool little guy! So much personality and spunk (reminds me of his daddy). I wasn’t sure how this session would go, since you never know what you’re going get with 2 yr. olds (that, and the fact he wasn’t too keen on my camera back in October when we did some family photos), but he was a gem! We just walked around and played and he hammed it up at all the right moments. Couldn’t ask for better. Okay, now you tell me: am I being biased? He’s so stinkin’ cute, right?

Watchin’ the ants

Check out my gun!

Even cowboys cry sometimes

Where’s my holster?

Phew! Being a cowboy is hard work!

Surveyin’ the land

As stated in Liz’s bridal post, Mike and Liz are just fabulous and Kayti and I loved working with them! We had the honor of doing some pre-reception coverage for them at the Tuscany Restaurant. Their families and bridal party were so kind and welcoming! We had some fabulous light and the Tuscany grounds were lovely.

Remember how Liz’s brother made her dress? Well he also made these awesome houndstooth skirts. Can I have one please?

Loved the bouquet and boutineers! Hydrangeas are my favorite.

Their friend made their cake, and I daresay did a fabulous job!

I’m back from Lake Powell and it’s back to work! Before I left I had the opportunity to photograph Lance and Karen’s engagements. These two are fabulous! So cute together and so great all-around. I’m really looking forward to their upcoming wedding!
We started out in an urban setting:

work those red shoes

After the urban, we headed to a more natural location

Don’t they both have fabulous eyes?

to spend some much needed time with these people:

Be back soon!
Today happens to be the birthday of the most important person in my world–my husband Jake. To even think of my life without him is unfathomable to me. He’s my best friend, my confidante, my plus one, my partner in parenting, my sounding board, my cheerleader, my comfort, my home, my heart, my love. Happy birthday babe. I love you more than I can say.

I’d like to introduce my newest nephew! Isn’t he a dream? So darling and sweet. He was born almost exactly one year after Audrey. It’s amazing to look at him and think that Audrey was that small and tiny just one year ago! Just look at this little guy. SO handsome!

He has a tight little grip. After this shot his mom has to pry his little fingers off. He didn’t want to let go!

Just look at those lips!

I love baby’s yawns! They are so sweet.

Big brother Daxton isn’t so sure about Bridger yet…I think he’ll come around though

Welcome to the family Bridger! We’re so happy you’re here!
